LEARN is a five-year programme, funded by the EU that aims to enhance capabilities of public health institutes in Laos. This is done in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Health and the University of Health Sciences in Laos, VU University of Amsterdam, Hanoi University of Public Health and MCNV.
This call has two aims. First, the call enables Lao researchers to generate knowledge that is particularly relevant to achieving universal health coverage in nutrition and sexual-reproductive health (SRH), especially their intersection with social determinants of health, and to costing, and cost-effectiveness. Secondly, it aims to contribute to improving public health research capacity and evidence informed public health policy making.
The projects to be supported will be between EUR 20,000 and 40,000, within a total fund of EUR 80,000. Research should be implemented primarily in 2018 with research report/publication completed by December 2019, enabling policy advocacy efforts before LEARN program ends (April 2020). All grants will be finalized no later than April 2020, to settle and approve all costs.
